So just do the math. The average person spends approximately $2,014.69 on fuel costs per year. WOW!!!

So what if the average American driver cut just 12 % out by car pooling, scheduling trips, walking, biking, taking the bus. That is only 1500 miles per year or only 125 miles per month or 4.16 miles per day. It would save the average American approximately $ 241.77 in fuel costs alone. 10 Tips Make Your Home Environment Friendly

1. Turn down your hot water heater by 10 degrees

2. Set Your Thermostat to 78 degrees in the summer and 68 degrees in the winter.

3. Insulate Your walls, & attic.

4. Seal around windows and doors.

5. In winter months wrap faucets, pipes, turn off water sprinklers so they will not freeze.

6. Turn off appliance, lights, fans, and electronics when not in use. ( using the remote control only puts items on stand by so turn off by hand)

7. Wash clothes in cooler water whenever possible.



8. Buy appliances that conserve energy and that help keep the land fill empty. (like a trash compactor and/or shredder)


9. Cut down on the use of paper products & styro foam.

10. Install solar panels if possible.
